Park Dental Celebrates 50 Years of Smiles
January 25, 2022It all started in 1969, when two young dentists, Dr. Greg Swenson and Dr. Brian Murn, were introduced to each other. Their dreams and goals revolved around not only providing high-quality dental care to their patients, but to do so in a caring manner. They believed the best way to provide this type of care to their patients was to start a dental group practice, and so they did. In 1972, Park Dental Brookpark, formerly known as Brookpark Dental Center, was opened in Brooklyn Center. This one practice grew to become Park Dental – now one of the largest independent dental group practices in the country. We are proud to celebrate our 50th Anniversary!
Throughout our rich history, we…
- Witnessed many dramatic advances in technology in the dental industry, from paper records to electronic, from offsite crown fabrication to digital impression capabilities, from clunky x-rays to digital imaging, and much more!
- Pioneered a one-of-a-kind set of Dental Clinical Care Guidelines and Protocols
- Implemented online scheduling for our patients to immediately access appointments
- Expanded our geographic footprint! Since our first practice opened in Brooklyn Center, we now have 52 locations, spanning from Duluth, to Owatonna, to western Wisconsin.
Join us as we celebrate 50 years of smiles and laughs, 50 years of opening practices to better serve our communities, and 50 years of high-quality, patient-centered care provided by our exceptional doctors and team members. As we celebrate throughout the year, we’ll be looking back at our history, where we are today and where we will be going in the future. We you enjoy the journey!
Park Dental lost a dear friend on June 6, 2021. Dr. Brian “Bud” Murn, Park Dental Co-Founder, passed away at the age of 93 years old.
Dr. Murn was more than just a dentist, or the co-founder of Park Dental. He was a husband, father, grandfather, and a great grandfather. To Park Dental, he was a leader and a friend; a caring, funny man who always had a smile on his face. He was dedicated to his family, friends, colleagues, patients, and our organization. He will remain in our thoughts as we celebrate Park Dental throughout the year.
“By helping one another, you both grow.” ~ Dr. Brian Murn
