How can you reduce the risk of obtaining oral cancer?
- Say no to any tobacco use, or quit if you are already using.
- Drink alcohol in moderation, if at all.
- Eat vegetables and fruit, as carotenoids are found in yellow and orange vegetables and fruits, as well as dark green vegetables. Studies have shown that carotenoids can lower the risk of oral cancer by limiting harm to cells in the mouth.
