Get to Know Dr. Matt Nechrebecki

Dr. Matt Nechrebecki practices at Park Dental Ridges, and is the next doctor in our “Get to Know the Park Dental Doctors” series.  In his profile, Dr. Nechrebecki shares what he loves most about being a dentist, the group practice setting, and shares some fun personal facts about himself.  We hope you enjoy learning more about Dr. Nechrebecki!!

What made you choose dentistry?
I was always interested in being a part of the medical profession.  I chose dentistry over medicine because I enjoy working with my hands and seeing the immediate result of my work whether I’m doing a filling, making a crown, completing a root canal, extracting a tooth, making a denture, etc.

What do you love most about being a dentist or what do you find the most rewarding?
I enjoy helping people get the smile they desire.  The most rewarding feeling is getting a patient out of pain when they need emergency treatment such as a root canal or tooth extraction.

What’s your care/treatment philosophy?
I want to make sure all patients are well informed regarding decisions for their care.  I present all options and provide all of the financials necessary to make sure the patient and I work together as a team to accomplish their treatment goals.

Is there a particular area of dentistry you enjoy the most or like to focus on?
I like all areas of dentistry but my favorite is endodontics (root canals).

When did you start or how many years have you been with Park Dental?
I graduated from dental school in 2007.  I worked for four years as a dentist for the United States Navy.  After three years working at a small private practice, I missed the larger group practice environment and began working at Park Dental in July 2014.

What is one thing you love most about Park Dental?
The camaraderie amongst the dentists and with all of the dental team members is fantastic.  The culture at Park Dental leads to a cooperative atmosphere with great communication.

What do you enjoy most about being part of a group practice?
It’s very fun and helpful to discuss complex patient cases with other dentists and collaborate with dental specialists to get patients the ideal care that they need.

  Doctor

  Hockey Referee and Baseball/Fastpitch Softball Umpire
• What do you like to do on your days off?
  Spend time with family and friends
• What’s your favorite food or drink?
  Sushi
• Who is your hero or who inspires you?
  My parents always set a great example for me.
• What is an interesting fact that people may not know about you?
  I’ve been scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef.
• If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
  I’d do a Mediterranean Cruise with ports at multiple African and European cities.
• What’s your favorite movie?
  The Shawshank Redemption
• What’s your favorite genre of music to listen to?
  1990’s Rock
• What are your hobbies?
  Hockey, Racquetball, Softball, Coaching my kids, Escape Rooms, Board Games, Reading, Fantasy Football
• What’s your favorite holiday?
  Christmas
• Do you speak any other languages?
  I know small amounts of Spanish and Japanese but am nowhere near fluent.
• Are you scared of or have a fear of anything?
  Maybe public speaking in front of a very large group
• What’s your favorite thing about living in Minnesota/Wisconsin?
  Having four different seasons of weather and having plenty of opportunity to play and watch hockey.
• Do you have any hidden talents?
  No.  What you see is what you get.
• What’s your favorite season?
  Winter
• What’s your favorite color?
  Green
• What’s your favorite animal?
  Dog
• How many different states have you lived in?
  Minnesota and South Carolina.  I’ve also lived in Australia and Japan.
