Get to Know Dr. Kathleen S. Logan

This week in our “Get to Know the Park Dental Doctors” feature we’re profiling Dr. Kathleen S. Logan at Park Dental Ridges. In her profile, Dr. Logan shares her treatment philosophy, what she enjoys about being a dentist, as well as some fun facts about her personal life. Learn more about Dr. Logan below!

What made you choose dentistry? 

I like to work with my hands doing small things and to interact with people. 

What do you love most about being a dentist or what do you find the most rewarding? 

I love aesthetic work and having patients happy with their teeth and I love that I have known some patients since I started 30 years ago and am now seeing not only their children but their grandchildren!! 3 generations. 

What’s your care/treatment philosophy? 

I am very conservative with my treatment plans and like to prioritize work for patients. 

Is there a particular area of dentistry you enjoy the most or like to focus on? 

Finishing crowns, bridges and implants as well as aesthetic changes. 

When did you start or how many years have you been with Park Dental? 

I started at Park Dental in 1992 and have been at the Burnsville practice for 30 years. 

What is one thing you love most about Park Dental? 

I love working in a group practice and with specialists all under one roof. 

What do you enjoy most about being part of a group practice? 

The ability to exchange ideas and discuss treatment with others is a huge advantage.

And now for a little fun, let’s get to know Dr. Logan on a personal level.

What did you want to be when you were a kid? 

I always wanted to be an Elementary school teacher. 

What was your very first job? 

I scooped ice cream at Baskin Robbins. And had very sticky and strong forearms as a result. 

What do you like to do on your days off? 

Travel, read, crochet, play viola and piano. 

What’s your favorite food or drink? 

Pizza I could eat every day of the week. And ice cream tastes better every year I am alive. 

Who is your hero or who inspires you? 

My family inspires me both parents and kids. 

What is an interesting fact that people may not know about you? 

I lived in Japan for 3 years when I was 3,4, and 5. 

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? 

I would go back to Japan since I have not been there since 1967. 

What’s your favorite movie? 

Mary Poppins, hands down. It is still magical to me. 

What’s your favorite genre of music to listen to?

Classical is always on at home. 

What are your hobbies?

Crochet, reading, Watching British Mysteries, travel. 

What’s your favorite holiday? 

Christmas. 

Do you speak any other languages?

Some German and some French. 

Are you scared of or have a fear of anything?

Claustrophobia. 

What’s your favorite thing about living in Minnesota?

Change of seasons, lakes. 

Do you have any hidden talents?

Can whistle loud at sports games. 

What’s your favorite season?

Spring. 

What’s your favorite color?

Pink. 

What’s your favorite animal?

Elephant. 

How many different states have you lived in?

3. Ohio, New York, and Minnesota.
