Get to Know Dr. Jill Schroeder

Meet Dr. Jill Schroeder!  Dr. Schroeder joined Park Dental after graduating from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1995, and currently practices at Park Dental Apple Valley.  Check out her profile below to learn about why she loves being a dentist at Park Dental and some fun facts about what she enjoys doing outside of the office!

What made you choose dentistry?
I didn’t know what I wanted to choose as a career.  Spring quarter of my freshman year, I saw an ad for the dental school open house.  I went and decided dentistry was it.

What do you love most about being a dentist or what do you find the most rewarding?
Making connections with people, both patients and team members.

What’s your care/treatment philosophy?
I feel it’s important to listen to patients concerns and make treatment decisions together.

Is there a particular area of dentistry you enjoy the most or like to focus on?
No.  I like being a general dentist. I get to see patients of all ages and treatment needs.

When did you start or how many years have you been with Park Dental?
I graduated from The University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1995. I started with Park Dental after graduation and continue to enjoy everything Park Dental has to offer.

What is one thing you love most about Park Dental?
I can focus on my patients and dentistry, and not as much on the financials of the practice. Also our great protocols and procedures.

What do you enjoy most about being part of a group practice?
The availability of other doctors and specialists.

• What did you want to be when you were a kid?
  Anything that would take me to the Minneapolis area.  I grew up in southern Minnesota.
• What was your very first job?
  Walking beans on my grandpa’s farm.
• What do you like to do on your days off?
  Relax!
• What’s your favorite food or drink?
  Pizza, frozen or gourmet, doesn’t matter as long as it has extra red sauce.
• If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
  Italy
• What’s your favorite movie?
  Legally Blonde
• What are your hobbies?
  I’m really good at binge watching tv shows.
• What’s your favorite holiday?
  Thanksgiving, good food and relaxing
• Do you speak any other languages?
  I took German in high school and remember nothing.
• What’s your favorite thing about living in Minnesota/Wisconsin?
  I like the change of seasons.
• Do you have any hidden talents?
  Not that I’ve discovered.
• What’s your favorite season?
  Fall
• What’s your favorite color?
  Blue
• What’s your favorite animal?
  Dogs
• How many different states have you lived in?
  2 – Minnesota and Iowa
