Get to Know Dr. Evanthia Shook

This week in our “Get to Know the Park Dental Doctors” feature, we’re profiling Dr. Evanthia Shook from our Blaine practice. In her profile, Dr. Shook shares her treatment philosophy, what she enjoys most about being a dentist, and some fun facts about her personal life. Learn more about Dr. Shook below!

What made you choose dentistry?

The ability to specialize in medicine while creating personal relationships with my patients and providing microsurgeries that improve their functioning, oral heath, and esthetics.  

What do you love most about being a dentist or what do you find the most rewarding? 

Helping patients feel comfortable when establishing their dental home. 

What’s your care/treatment philosophy? 

Learning about a patient’s overall health and oral health as well as their wants and needs from a dental standpoint, and then educating the patient so they are aware what is going on with their body and can make the best decision for their personal situation. 

Is there a particular area of dentistry you enjoy the most or like to focus on?

I love it all, that is the beauty of general dentistry. 

When did you start or how many years have you been with Park Dental?

I started in January 2025. 

What is one thing you love most about Park Dental? 

The desire to provide best level of care for our patients, by keeping up with dental technologies and continuing education consistently across Park Dental. 

What do you enjoy most about being part of a group practice?

The collaboration of the doctors, assistants, hygienists, and other team members to provide the best experience for our patients and to create a great work environment.

What did you want to be when you were a kid?

An interior designer. 

What was your very first job?

Group fitness instructor. 

What do you like to do on your days off?

Go on long walks with my goldendoodle, Shea. 

What’s your favorite food or drink?

Pizza. 

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? 

Australia. 

What’s your favorite movie?

Pride and Prejudice. 

What are your hobbies? 

Swimming, biking, running, cooking, baking. 

Do you speak any other languages?

Greek and Spanish. 

Are you scared of or have a fear of anything? 

Butterflies. 

What’s your favorite season?

Fall. 

What’s your favorite color?

Forest Green. 

How many different states have you lived in?

4; Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, and now Minnesota!
