Routine Exams Are Safeguard Against Serious Oral Health Issues

According to a recent poll by Gallup, approximately one in three adults in the United States has not seen a dentist in the past 12 months. Personally, this stat doesn’t surprise me due to the unwarranted prevalence of dental phobia. Because of this fear, I often see patients who consistently put off coming in until their pain is simply unbearable. Here at Park Dental, we try our best to alleviate both our patient’s pain and fear, and nothing combats both problems better than consistent visits to the dentist.

While the recommended length of time between appointments depends on the patient’s risk factors, as a general rule of thumb, we recommend our patients visit us every six months for a check-up. These routine visits consist of a hygiene cleaning, as well as a dental exam, ensuring that you leave with clean, shiny teeth and the confidence that your teeth and mouth are healthy.

However, regular check-ups do more than just ensure that your teeth are cavity free. Through consistent dental exams, we are able to screen for oral cancer, which remains one of the most deadly forms of cancer. In fact, early detection, through routine dental visits, can greatly improve survival rates by catching the cancer early.

Due to their importance, all of us at Park Dental do our best to make regular visits as affordable as possible. This is done through a variety of means, including the acceptance of a wide assortment of insurance plans, as well as our Care Packages savings plans for patients who do not have insurance. We even offer discounts for those patients who pay cash. Through these programs, we make every effort to make your dental visits as easy and accessible as possible.

If you’re due for a dental exam, please feel free to make an appointment at your local Park Dental practice. No matter if you last visited the dentist 10 months or 10 years ago, we would love to see you. And like countless patients before you, we’re sure that you’ll leave thinking: “That was so easy! I wish I had done it sooner.”

Why do some doctors not have a star rating or comments?

In order to provide our patients with the most accurate and beneficial information, we only post star ratings and comments for a doctor once they have received a minimum of 30 surveys within the previous 12 months.
