National Tooth Fairy Day
February 28, 2023February 28th and August 22nd are National Tooth Fairy Day! Did you know that most children start to lose their baby teeth by age 6 and lose almost all of their teeth by age 12?
How did the tooth fairy come to be?
Back in the 1920s, healthcare started to use fairies in advertisements to educate children on how to maintain good health by eating their vegetables, bathing, going outside, and brushing their teeth daily. The fairy persona came to be because of the author, Esther Watkins Arnold. She wrote a playlet about fairies and in specific, the tooth fairy! With that playlet circling around, children and their imagination took off to keep the tooth fairy alive till this very day.
The tooth fairy is a fun and exciting way to keep your children on top of their oral health. Remember that the tooth fairy loves it when children visit their dentist twice a year!
