Dr. Litzenberg joined Park Dental in 2017 after graduating from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine. In his profile, Dr. Litzenberg shares what other career he considered before choosing dentistry, as well as other interesting facts about himself. Enjoy learning about Dr. Litzenberg!
What made you choose dentistry?
I knew I wanted to have a career in medicine where I could help impact and improve lives, but also wanted a job that would be conducive to having a family and not being at work 24/7.
What do you love most about being a dentist or what do you find the most rewarding?
My favorite thing about dentistry is having patients that have had ongoing dental anxiety/phobia return and say that they had a great experience and are not as anxious as they once were. It is also very rewarding to watch a patient smile for the first time in a long while because they aren’t self conscious about their teeth anymore.
What’s your care/treatment philosophy?
I try to be as realistic about treatment as possible. I always present the most optimal treatment to patients, and work with them to find a treatment plan that they’re comfortable with. Not every treatment will be right for every patient.
Is there a particular area of dentistry you enjoy the most or like to focus on?
I really enjoy restorative dentistry – fillings, crowns, veneers, etc. It’s rewarding to be able to restore function and esthetics to a tooth or teeth that a patient was not happy with or unable to use.
When did you start or how many years have you been with Park Dental?
I began practicing as a licensed dentist in 2017, with Park Dental.
What is one thing you love most about Park Dental?
I really enjoy the group practice aspect of Park Dental. I believe that this team approach leads to better, more comprehensive care for our patients.
What do you enjoy most about being part of a group practice?
With a group practice, patients always have somebody they can reach with their concerns. If a doctor is sick or on vacation or a practice is closed there is always another doctor or practice that can serve a patients’ needs or help with their concerns.
